After news spread that Sesame Street announced the creation of Julia — a new character with autism — ABC Action News reached out to Janet Burrows to discuss how the local autism community felt about the new campaign. Janet spoke to the importance of having a character with autism and about “The Amazing Song,” which was filmed at the flagship We Rock the Spectrum in Tarzana, CA.

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Parents are always looking for a place for their kids to play and feel comfortable. It’s especially challenging for families with children who have autism or some sort of learning disability. One in 50 kids in our community has some form of autism.
